DDC Group: the potential of large-scale digital distribution

As many of you are aware, NPR brought together a group of individuals last summer to work through some of the issues of digital distribution, and to consider the potential for the success of a set of technologies that opens the world of public media content to millions of listeners and viewers online. I was a member of that group. Jake Shapiro has posted a paper that provides an excellent overview of the work we did last summer. It contains the details of our work on a business plan for an entity that might aggregate (invisibly) and ship this content out to stations.

You can download the pdf here. Jake, who as you know, blogs sometimes, has an excellent overview here. Please take the time to read this, if you can. I hope it causes a lot of discussion.
