He’s Back

My boyfriend, Chuck, is blogging again, after a hiatus. Chuck creates, eat, lives, breathes, studies food and wine, and he writes better than I do.

My favorite post thus far relates his 5-month consideration of our experience at Alinea in Chicago in May – specifically, the oxalis course. This was one of 25 courses we enjoyed during that nearly 6 hour dinner, but Chuck has been talking about this course ever since, and following it on the Alinea web site as the course has evolved. His memory of food, wine and taste is nearly photographic.

You can also follow his exploration of bread-making, something I’ve enjoyed first-hand; that 6th day at the gym every week helps!

Sidebar:

Grant Achatz is the chef at Alinea. In July of this year, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth, which may have spread to the lymph nodes. All the best to him as he fights this rare form of cancer.
In October 2006, Gourmet magazine named Alinea the best restaurant in the country.
