Firefox 3 Day
2008 June 17
In less than 4 hours, Firefox 3 will launch, and aside from the hoopla surrounding Mozilla’s effort to set a record for downloads within 24 hours, this is a big step forward for the browser that rose from the ashes of Netscape.
Firefox 3 looks better, runs faster, and runs somewhat more efficiently than Firefox 2 (your results may vary). It’s built on a brand new version of Gecko, and besides the speed improvement, I’ve seen a slightly smaller memory footprint. (Thank goodness for that!)
