Bill Anderson, the Program Director at KCUR in Kansas City, was in a horrible accident this morning. Last I heard, he’s in stable condition and is resting, but he sustained lots of broken bones when a car spun out of control this morning and hit him head on. Stephen Steigman, the Senior Producer of KCUR’s local show “Up to Date” says Bill is in good spirits, which I’m happy to hear, and I’m even happier that he’s still with us.

I had my first lengthy interaction with Bill just a few weeks ago when he and the “Up to Date” team came to Des Moines for a couple days to cover the Iowa caucuses. They were a great group and, sitting in to hear their second show, I was mightily impressed by what they do.

So, kudos to them and best wishes for a quick recovery to Bill and his family.

UPDATE: 1/28 – Bill has not suffered as many broken bones as originally thought, BUT he still broke a number of bones, including 8 ribs. Surgery on his foot and ankle has gone well. He’s said to be in good spirits.
